  3. Being a distinguished authority in responding to scientific, educational and research needs in various fields related to miracles and interdisciplinary studies of the Holy Quran, such as: Qur'anic studies (Miracles of the Qur'an subdiscipline), computational Quran mining, etc.
  4. Providing solutions and participation to solve social and individual problems based on the teachings of the Holy Quran
  5. Selection of the best talents in order to educate future specialists in the field of miracles and interdisciplinary studies of the Holy Quran

  2. Enhancing the knowledge of academic members and actualizing their maximum potential: taking into account strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats, along with the employment of experts in the required fields.
  3. persistent organization (removal, creation, modification and combination) of the fields of computational Qur'an mining and Qur'anic studies (Miracles of the Qur'an subdiscipline); addition new and practical fields at the master level; creating the fields of computational Quran mining and interdisciplinary Quranic studies in doctoral level

Changing the Name of the Research Institute

Based on the approval of the Council of the Research Institute and for the following reasons, the name of the Research Institute was changed to "Interdisciplinary Qur'anic Studies Research Institute" in 2021.

  1. One of the important and key ways to show different aspects of the miracles of the Quran is to turn to interdisciplinary studies. Therefore, by focusing on interdisciplinary studies of the Quran, it is possible to achieve the miracles of the Quran in different fields of knowledge more methodically.
  2. The main goal of the Holy Quran is to guide people, which shows the necessity of applying Quranic studies to solve individual and social problems; therefore, this issue is considered as one of the most important concerns of the research institute, whose significance is no less than indicating the miracles of the Quran. One of the most important solution to practicalize Quranic studies is to use interdisciplinary methods and approaches.
  3. Since the establishment of the research institute, in addition to the miracles of the Qur'an, it has always considered interdisciplinary Qur'anic studies as a strong pillar, and with this view, it has also established two majors: computational Quran mining an Qur'anic studies (Miracles of the Qur'an subdiscipline).
  4. Interdisciplinary studies of the Qur'an, in addition to being able to provide significant achievements independently, are also considered as a suitable groundwork for representing the miracles of the Qur'an. For this reason, a good basis has been provided for changing the title of the research institute to "interdisciplinary Qur'anic studies.
  5. So far, the research institute has carried out many activities (including writing books, articles, and collections of articles, holding specialized meetings and workshops, as well as holding national and international conferences) related to interdisciplinary studies and the miracles of the Holy Quran. This issue also shows the actual good capacity of the research institute to enter this field more seriously. Fortunately, in Iran, we have been able to achieve relative authority in this field;
  6. Although the debate of the miracles of the Quran has a high capacity in the field of natural sciences, in the field of humanities, what is more important is interdisciplinary studies.
  7. For this reason, in order to make more use of the Holy Qur'an and establish a connection between various fields of knowledge with the Qur'an, it is necessary to pay attention to the "interdisciplinary studies of the Qur'an" along with the miracles of the Qur'an.
  8. According to the aforementioned, the wider scope of the title "interdisciplinary Qur'anic studies" led to the change of the name of the research institute.
